Wensleydale Railway Matters

65894 back at Wensleydale in August https://www.wensleydalerail.com/steam-running-2019

 

Got hit by the vandals last weekend. They did a lot of damage to one coach in particular (reported on local TV news last evening)

 

This loco really belongs to be, when working on the Wensleydale line. I'm making plans to visit.

 

Have fun trying to get on, online says that allows trains are fully booked for the steam services.

 

J27 No.65894 outside Leyburn and Leaming Bar 03/08/19

 

Hello im going to the wensleydale railway tomorrow on the green timetable at 11am from leeming bar station its steam anyone any ideas what the loco is on tomorrows train? Last year 2018 i remember it been the J72 69023. could it be the J27 any clues. Davo56F

 

It will be the J27. The J72 is going a overhaul at Hopetown Works, Darlington.

 

Thanks just as i thought cos the N.Y.M.R. and wensleydale railway loan the J27 in the summer season and even a stabling point for tornado i believe cos there boh N.E. preservation railways it would also be good in 3 years time maybe to see the J21 to be on a hire agreement when it eventually gets running when the G.C.R. have overhauled her.

Last day for 65894, the J27 and J72 are hired from NELPG. The J21 will operate under the auspices of the LCLT and I suspect the NNR and Stainmore will be well ahead in the queue.

And scruton reopened N.E. station maybe next year we may see trains running back to northallerton west if the next level crossing and platelayers work sleepers and track can be renewed if the funding is avaliable
