It did and we were told by RTC that No.9 would be on both the 1st and 15th September hence the posts. Like many things with Mainline Steam these days confusion rules...
By the way, been told bu RTC that No.9 will not be on the 15th September either so remarkably 6233 looks as if she'll run all 4, provided she's fit to run of course.

Seems that N0.9 will be on the Torbay Express on the 8th as the Duchess is being used on the 7th.

I’ve also arrived in Bristol, looking forward to a run with 6233 as it’s been a long time since I’ve been behind her.

Until then, it’s dinner time at Don Giovannis opposite Temple Meads

Not helped by being stuck behind late running GWRs. Penzance late off Exeter. Newquay very late off Plymouth.

Looks like a slick piece of running from PLY to EXD on the way back. 61 minutes?

It was a stunning day weather wise for the departure of 6233 from Bristol yesterday. There were many folk at Parson Street with huge grins on their faces as the Duchess powered through. :):):):):)

Well done to RYTC and West Coast for not tagging the diesel to the rear of the train. That would have been the easy and obvious option.

Later for me it was an enjoyable day at the WSR while I waited for the returning Duchy to pass through Bridgwater on the return …..well worth the 13 hour wait.

Many thanks to RYTC, West Coast crews and support volunteers. <BJ>

Yes, that was a fine and unchecked run. Coming in through Starcross I began to wonder if sub 60 minutes was going to be possible, but the approach into St David’s itself saw hopes evaporate. This takes nothing away from a stirring and sometimes noisy run over the banks. All very enjoyable.

Didn't have an effect on us. Almost max speeds through both NA and TOT.

Return from TAU dreadful path behind 2136 stopper to BRI. Didn't exceed 54 until after our Yatton set down. Sensible driving as no point accelerating to and 70+ then braking on station approaches; No though no fun going through Highbridge and Bridgwater at 51/2 and not the usual spectacle of closer to 75.

Same at EXD where we have to wait for the 2035 PNZ-PAD to clear, though the watering took a tad long there.
