The Jonathan Clay website was most interesting. I was about to commission him to do a couple of paintings, but then he had to go and tweet support for Il Duce Bojo and no-deal brekks-it, so he's just lost 600 quid ... :(

As Mountaineer was the first FfR loco I travelled behind, back in 1986 I think, I am in complete agreement.

Oh dear - I'll remember that in future.

Another watercolourist, with a slightly different style but close connections to the FfR and who takes railway-related commissions is Rebecca Kitchin - see http://www.rebecca-kitchin.co.uk/

Shame they haven't already. With Lyd and Taliesin on the way out, next year might be a bit thin on the ground. Especially without the mythical 3rd double engine

Blimey ..... another decade gone already? :Woot:

More seriously tho', unless someone knows differently, given it's the 1st 10yr, surely Lyd shouldn't present too much of a challenge. Is the capacity for Blodge to indulge in a game of 'musical bogies' likely to make Tal's 2nd 10 yr rather less fraught than for an equivalent rigid design?

Whilst it is, of course, up to the two of you how you spend your money, I have to say that I am disappointed that you have chosen to politicise this thread quite unnecessarily. It is precisely this kind of supposed "virtue signalling" which is making Brexit far more divisive than it needs to be.

I would also like to observe that I have never discriminated against any business owner on the basis of their political views. Indeed, most of my closest friends are Remainers. And yet people say Brexiteers are intolerant...go figure!

Currently up in the air having all the brake rigging attached to the bogies. Other than that, it has been completed internally by the carr works team

Version 2 of the WTT is currently being produced. So it'll be another week I would think

I received Version 2 yesterday afternoon (roughly the same as Version 1 - unusual for these events!).

    Details can be found https://www.festrail.co.uk/content/publish/specialevents/550.shtml

    and tickets: https://shop.myonlinebooking.co.uk/festrail/sessions.aspx?tid=12&cdate=4/oct/2019

There is also a potential 'night glow' for the Thursday evening as well that hasn't been put anywhere yet.

First train Friday is 0830 with last one back in (not including evening specials) around 1900
First train Saturday is 0715 with last one back in around 2100
First train Sunday is 0740 with last one back in around 1900

There's line up's planned at the Old Loco Shed (Friday) and Harbour Station (Sunday)

Is a public timetable published in advance of the Victorian Weekend? I haven't been before but am planning to attend on the Friday. At the moment though, other than the limited information on the website, I have no idea what to expect in terms of what I can travel on.

Usually a basic timetable is published online showing times of passenger trains in advance of the event. If you want more detail they sell an event guide that will tell you all the timetabled train movements including which locos and stock are on which trains, goods trains, light engine movements, specials and so on.

To give you a rough idea though, Friday last year had 5 round trips to Blaenau including a Victorian mixed train, 4 trips to Minffordd, 1 public train + 2 specials to T-y-B, 1 goods train to Dduallt and 1 Gravity train from Power Station Summit, also 3 trips to Beddgelert with vintage stock. So there is usually plenty to do on Friday.

That's really helpful - thank you.
