    Sunday 1st September.
Train 1 at Dorridge. Plenty of sun while I was waiting and again two minutes after Clun had passed. Sod's Law as usual.

Train 2 at Widney Manor. Sun just breaking through as 7029 sped past. 30 seconds later the scene was bathed in glorious light. Lucky to have go anything though as the camera decided to play silly beggars. Always shoot in RAW and fully manual but just before I was about to fire, the camera "blinked" and switched itself jpeg mode and fully automatic with the settings miles out. No idea how it did it as to get out of RAW mode involves visiting the menu and scrolling through the options. Must have been about three stops under exposed but thanks to the wonders of digital post processing I've ended up with a useable image.

1st September but still not cool enough for white exhaust. First train crossing the canal link between the Grand Union and Stratford canals at Lapworth.
The second train at Dorridge was no different to spamcan's result -- in sun when the train left Stratford, then under a cloud which cleared as I got in the car to drive home -- all the way in sun.
