Again, it has to be repeated. 20777 was not "rescued by the HNGRS" but by Mr. &Mrs. Curl personally. It remained at Durley after the HNGRS (later to become the HNGRT) ceased to be involved with the site. The sale of the machine to Statfold has nothing to do with the HNGRT.

At least the Purbeck clay mining museum currently has 2 locos (one "Snapper" under restoration and the other "Norden" on loan from it's owner at the Old Kiln railway)!

    From https://www.bursledonbrickworks.org.uk/events.php
Presume will be the last narrow gauge trains to run at the Brickworks, and then the track will go to the Hampton and Kempton railway for their extension?

Purbeck Mining Museum has 3 loco's at present. Motorail owned by Chairman which is under repair. Engine Shed can house 6 loco's

Barry and His Wife in the early 70s were responsible for saving a large quantity of rail, waggons and locos from the clay workings at Norden. If it hadn't been for them, virtually nothing would have been left of the narrow gauge system that existed on Purbeck since the second World War. Their efforts also enabled a record of where all the stock and rail was disposed to. Because of that several items have been returned to Norden. Wagons had been sent to Seaton Tramway, North Dorset Orchard, Devon and several other places.

I recently came across these photos that my father Bill Baker took back in the 1973 timeframe at Four Winds upon the completion of the original HNGRS circuit at Durley. This was the "Golden Spike" ceremony. Please can anyone confirm the exact date of the event? Thanks!
