Thanks for picking that up, might take a run to Runcorn East and have a chat with the crew if the scheduled stop does actually take place.

Given the last posting on 'the Cheshireman' thread this may be a case of 'watch this space'.

Sad about no.9 but if you need a substitute a pair of Black '5's are good. Certainly better than a diesel. <BJ>

Quite by coincidence..I recently had to have a new phone, a Samsung A10. I don't know why, but I get notifications from Samsung by a site "Rail Advent", all rail related, even yesterday's derailment at Wakefield. I don't know which I button I pressed to get this news but it's very up to date. Hope you can figure it out...good luck. I would'nt be surprised if I get news on Victor's knee...

Came across this whilst idly browsing. Looks to be diesel or at best a steam "drag". Any clues? Anything to do with the Wensleydale Railway's "Polar Express"?
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O59243/2019-11-15/detailed

EDIT: 15h Nov: a) 37706 + 2, b) probably nothing to do with Polar Express, c) still no idea why this ran!

Black '5's plus 2 support coaches safely into a chilly (4 degrees) Bristol. Thankfully a few minutes early. :) <BJ>

Should be load 11 tomorrow then. Last time we had the 2 5s on the Cheshireman, the last diesel free one, we had a very full 12 coach train. The 5s coped with the Cwmbran and Abergavenny restarts and only slipped a few times on Llanvihangel.

It was a good trip, though hopefully the TPWS doesn't play up like last time !
