One of 46115 , Lizzie or 35018 perhaps as 13 and a deadish 47 might be a bit much for a Jubilee

As per my previous post the max for a class 8 in leaf drop season is 11, this was loading 13 so who knows, we are on next week so fingers crossed!

 

That’s the max loading for unassisted steam. With the requirement for a diesel on the rear for turning at Carlisle alone, running single headed won’t be an issue. 35018 took all Shap runs single headed last year.

 

Thank you, kind sir. I forgot to mention that the insides of the coaches were decorated with tinsel and baubles and snowflakes on the windows; a top effort from start to finish. I'd also like to thank you and the others who photographed and videoed the train - some excellent images brightening a dismal day (weather-wise).

Does anyone know which way the consist is i.e. is A front or rear?

 

I think coach A is at the front.

 

Which coach were you in on Sunday. I'm on train this Sunday

 

Any smoke signals from Carnforth of likely motive power?

 

Possibly so but the whole train turns at Carlisle, so unless WCRC turn the whole train between runnings (or re-letter all the coaches) Coach A will be on the back come the second running?

That slightly narrows the options unless the green paint brush has been busy elsewhere in the shed!
