I understand from a member of the support crew that the time allotted for the service was never going to work and was not helped by the lack of urgency from other quarters.

Be a devil someone and post us a performance report or log of the train. Rarely does anyone write a report or post a log on the 'diesel on the rear' trains so we timer's can pore over them and get a feel for what the diesel was doing on the back..

Pointless me doing it as I take point to point times and maximum GPS speed per section rather than MP logs. At a guess, it may have been 60-40 in favour of diesel at Abergavenny because of the check, but 50-50 at most thereafter on the steeper climbs.

How about downloading your GPS data and saving it as a csv file??

Sounds a bit like hard work and don't know how to do it (don't you need something to connect the thing with the computer?). I've also cleared the trip for the next run, so I doubt it would be of use this time round.

Easy GPS is as it says easy to use. It lists the tracks in the memory. They can be saved as csvs and be opened in Excel. Thought you youngsters were tech savvy. If you just use the reset on the Garmin the tracks are still in memory.

Me? Tech savvy? Pull the other one! I only just know how to use my mobile phone! I never bothered with GCSE IT like everyone else at school. Just wasn't interested, and never been one to follow the crowd.

IT? We didn't even have computers in the public domain when I was in school and did A Levels.

Leominster on the way up, water stop & crossing TfW 158. And storming through on the return after long wet waits for her thanks to the trouble at Crewe. Pity, as she performed wonderfully, as usual. LeominsterSta-2019-11-23-2.jpg LeominsterSta-2019-11-23-15.jpg
