All seemed positive yesterday from where I was on the ELR , I'd take heart from the fact it' s rostered intensely for the next week or so...

Doubt it will be on many ELR Santa trains in February ,they appear to be quite seasonal in demand .

Any more mainline rosters planned in 2020 for U.o.S.A. on RTC/ WCRC rosters?

The ELR isn't exactly the ECML, No 9's real country and where it was scheduled to be running on Saturday doing what it does best.

Is there any chance that we'll see it again on the main line north of Newcastle, or will it be kept on a close leash doing 25mph, or on more runs in the south until it breathes its last?

I very much doubt that UoSA will be seen on any WCR trips, they do have quite a reasonable fleet of their own.

Any ideas on Number 9's last hurrah? From looking at the RTC site it looks like her last tour with them is the 9th March.
I wonder given Tornado has picked up the December Edinburgh Flyer if they may "swap" so that Number 9 picks up the advertised one in March (21st).
She might not be able to though, as if I have my dates correct; I believe the mainline boiler extension certificate has passed - trying desperately to get another tour behind her before she is (potentially) retired and York to Edinburgh would be a fitting way of saying goodbye.

If No 9 is retired, it won’t be to York. The owner is a proud Scot and that’s where he wants it

Surely (and I say this without a shred of bias.....honest....) the natural retirement send of is a round trip between Auld Reekie and the Granite City with a last turn at 61B Ferryhill.

    One can dream.

You can dream further which is why I said, if it is retired.

No one has suggested that she would be retired to York - what made you think it would?

johnb wasn't thinking 60009 would be retired to York. He was replying to another poster who was thinking along those lines.

Which post was that? Certainly not dublo6231 whose post he originally quoted.
