    I thought that they were banned from passenger trains after a derailment?

    In the 70's there was a rather basic Wills OO kit that fitted the Hornby Jinty chassis so they were rather more popular with the modeller than their numbers might have suggested

    These Midland "Flatirons" were Britain's most numerous class of 0-6-4T, with 40 built in 1907. ES Cox described them as "something of an assembly of lame ducks". Cox wrote of his involvement in an early 1930s project to improve the riding of the class and make them less prone to derailment on poor track. Some success was achieved, but the LMS soon opted for an alternative solution - they scrapped the lot in 1935-38.
