2020 Cumbrian Mountain Expresses

With 2020 right around the corner I thought it would be good to start this thread. The performances that all of the locomotives in The Carnforth pool where good in my opinion during 2019. It is wonderful having 46115 back in steam following its most recent overhaul too. Expecting 35018 out on some of these as well the Jubilees but am leaning more towards the two numbers above because of power classification.

 

The WCME 2019 was the highlight of the year for Mr & Mrs V, Les Ross from Euston, BIL and Mayflower. from Carnforth, deep snow on the fells...........and a birthday cake for old Victor. A wonderful day.

Oh, and a drop of Jaipur in The Woodrow Wilson.

 

Don't forget 6201 !

Leander under maintenance through the Winter months based on the article in Steam Railway talking to Chris Beet, so that can probably be crossed off the list of potential motive power for the WCME's.

 

Be nice if the first one's double headed like the old day's ! I always used to look forward to the first WCME but in recent year's they've all run with assistance !

 

At the time of writing, the RTC web site is advertising the first WCME from Manchester as out by Shap return via the S&C.

RTT contradicts this with S&C out and Shap return.

Water at Chatburn as per the 60103 tours in December, so yes looks that way.

 

Just needs snow up on the fells for a winter wonderland.

 

Like Feb 2nd last year, though it could mean 'getting up' earlier than planned for this route.

 

Is there anything in Carnforth that can't be rostered for the first train, my friend wants to know as he just booked a ticket

I think your choices at this early stage are 35018, 46115, 45562, 6201.
