I am surprised that a separate set of tests weren't carried out right before the boiler was installed in the frames. I believe that we have done that before, to "re-start" the certificate.

Took the wife and baby boy on the Santa Special today. Was very impressed with the effort that had gone in to turning Weybourne in to Santa’s Grotto, and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

Another detailed and informative report - many thanks Chris for producing these throughout the year, they are always interesting and highlight the great work that the NNR team do. Merry Christmas to you all and I look forward to reading more of your reports in 2020

The final C&W Blog of the year celebrates everything that's been achieved over this year:

C&W News - Review of the Year 2019

I'd also like to thank all those on Nat Pres who read the blogs and who comment with kind words and encouragement. I don't take the time to respond to every one individually, perhaps I should, but nevertheless your support is read, noted and appreciated! Here's to another year!

Just wondered if there has been any talk of which livery the N2 will wear when it returns to service? LNER Black would go nicely with the quad-arts.

Can we please get the N2 back in Service before we start worrying about the colour? :p

Given the N2 left site a while ago to be progressed elsewhere (to return once complete I believe) there hasn't been much talk at all at the NNR about it, and the livery hasn't even been mentioned!

Suitably and justly chastised, I shall keep my mouth shut about liveries. Lol

Am I right in thinking that the Spring Gala will be a solely Home Fleet affair with the caption "Our resident locomotive collection steaming for a long weekend" on the gala page.

I am pretty sure there will be visitor locos and there are always members of the home fleet running at the galas. There is already a home fleet only running weekend in October and it would be stupid not to have visiting locomotives for the main galas. Most people come to the events to see the visitor locos running alongside members of the home fleet.

Ah right I didn't see there was a home fleet weekend, just the way it was worded seemed like it this gala wasn't going to feature visitors, glad it will though.
