As a follow up here's the next instalment of the bridge replacement at Hogsmead, oops Aidensfield, I mean Goathland. It shows the old Bridge 27 being removed and cut up RIP old 27.

The old tinworm had certainly been busy, looking at that, and other photos elsewhere. Sadly, 27's time was well and truly up - but after (I think) over 100 years' service that's not surprising.

From the Steam Railway Facebook pages:
"The 2020 HRA Steam Railway Magazine readers' award goes to everyone involved in the restoration of unique single-chimney '9F' No. 92134, which got 32% of the vote!
Congratulations to everyone who has worked on restoring this '9F' to steam, from the earliest working parties at Barry, to the team on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway who completed its restoration last year."

Another feather in the cap of the rejuvenated NYMR Motive Power Department.

2020 should see all those locos that saw service in 2019 back in action: 29, 825, 926, 1264, 5428, 2238, 65894, 76079, 80136 & 92134. The only planned addition to the fleet will be C0ckerill 1625, the boiler of which has just been completed.
Apart from the above, work is ongoing on the overhauls of 34101 and 75029, both of which are expected to return to service at some time in 2021.

Once more I've come across another instalment of the Bridge 27 'Tube video. It shows the Guys from Cleveland Bridge and Volker Rail making a start on fitting parts for the new Bridge 27......

The latest Moors Line tells us that Peter Best has bought 44806 from the NYMR and and is to overhaul it for further use on the Railway. Hopefully, it will now be back in service sooner rather than later.

Bridge update number 8 has been published.

I have to say that our cat was very disappointed! Usually when I get the notification I get a drink and sit down on the sofa and our lady cat jumps up for a cuddle and a tummy rub. The usual 10-15 minutes is puurfect. This time at 31 seconds she didn't even have time to settle...
