Far be it from me to start a thread.... but I can't see one for this 'un and it features the long-awaited (by me anyway) return to steam of ex-L&Y 0-6-0 saddle tank 752, aka 51456, on it's first fare-paying passenger train since 1982!:)

It's also an excuse to re-acquaint myself with the Buffer Stops at Rawtenstall and the Trackside at Bury Bolton Street.

Timetable for the 3 days below - no loco allocations as yet but I imagine they'll be available soon.

Fingers crossed the Metrolink will be running....;)

Looking forward to visiting this event for rides and photos.

Does anyone happen to know if all engines are facing North or are any facing Heywood?

    Many thanks

Is 51456 taking part in the E.L.R. winter gala on 6th to 8th march cos i looked on E.L.R. events page and its not rostered 4 the gala, so does 51456 need more running in then i presume?

Timetables are available but no loco's yet:

Slight problem with Saturday's T/T, the 08.45 express from Bury has no return working from Rawtenstall, it's going to be a bit cosy when the 09.30 from Bury arrives :D. I'm sure it will get corrected, first train should return from Rawtenstall 09.30 as the 1J52 I would think.
Busy weekend with the KWVLR's event and the mainline steam at York Saturday, 46233/60009/70000.

Strange feel about the gala, a bit of Thomas weekend slipped in, diesel weekend blue coaches, improbable headboards and equally strange pairings.
As Alan said, strange things on the lineside, awaiting a train on top of Brooksbottom tunnel we see a teenage girl and little dog (not on lead) walking across the viaduct from Summerseat and disappear into the tunnel, the train was only minutes away, don't know what the outcome was. Difficult day with the sun and regulator shut offs early, a few from today, Friday.
