Where is 60009 at the moment, her boiler ticket must be getting very close to ending now, she may very well end up having to be moved by road , or have to be towed dead, motion removed if she moves back to Scotland.

Still at York I think? Although the mainline ticket is weeks now, I think it has a bit longer on boiler ticket for running on heritage lines?

Are you sure about the boiler ticket, she had an extension on her 7 year mainline ticket which means the boiler ticket runs out about the same time but with the time she has been out of use, she might be able to get a short extension of her boiler ticket depending on the state of the boiler, to enable her to run for a few months on a preserved line.

Not sure at all, which is why I included a question mark at the end, but at least one of the mags mentioned use on the East Lancs. How accurate that information was, I'm not sure. It is probably irrelevant now anyway in the situation we are all in.

not really because boiler certificates are renewed yearly on preserved lines, so in theory if the engine was in good condition and the owner wanted, it possibly could get a ticket based on a number of steamings assuming this lock down is lifted by may, or june, she could get an extension till the end of the year, to enable it to have a short number of steaming days.

Heard on the grape vine shes is booked to move to Bury ELR on Wednesday (yes the 1st of April, but its come from a respectable source) but haven't found any times as yet.... if in fact she goes by rail..... some doubt that this will take place given the country is on lock down. Will remain there for up to a year.....

Here's a picture of happier times:

With the ELR Autumn Gala being cancelled due to 60009 being declared unavailable does anyone know what the current situation is with the A4?
    Is she stranded at York?

In other No.9 news I see that there is a book about her exploits coming out in February next year. It consists of stories from members of her support crew over the years:

Any indication why she is 'unavailable' is this end now as I thought she was supposed to be at the ELR for a while running down her ticket?

Wasn't her ticket due to expire about the same time as her main line certificate? she could possibly have ran on a preserved line with an one year extension, or a set number of steaming's, but she would be needed to be towed down to Bury anyway, unless one of Rileys 5'S happened to be passing, and 9' s connecting rods were already down, theres the question of arranging a tow, it could be that , there was just not enough time, to arrange it .

IIRC, wasn’t number 9 to make one last run which would find it at Bury by the time it’s mainline cert was to run out. However following Covid-19 restrictions this wasn’t followed through with and instead a tow is to be arranged at some point? An extension to its Boiler ticket will also see it through to 2022?
