With the Coronavirus crisis causing such major changes across our lives, and naturally a pause to mainline steam, I've put this video together to remember happier times, and to think of those which are yet to come. Neil Young's 'Long May You Run' seemed a fitting song to set the scenes to.

There are some superb videos around at the moment. This one beats the lot, by many a mile. Superb in every way with the most appropriate music. Thank you so much for this, it's one to watch again and again, and then some more!

@Linesider is in a class apart from others and the field is a pretty good one, imo!!

Sorry but its lacking in something, perhaps original sound filtering through and could be longer

Crackin stuff ,makes me think back a long time ago to when I was in a Stirling Premier Inn and while in the bar I overheard the PSOV boys talking about a clip by Linesider. They were really enthusing over it (think it was 6201) and so I looked up Linesider and still remember our first meeting at Cowran Cutting also a long time ago.Keep them coming David your work is class.

Got to agree with you there Al as I’ve always thought David is on another level compared to a lot of good videographers around.

Don’t usually like railway videos with a musical accompaniment but this is in a class of its own. For once, the music and lyrics add poignancy to a superb sequence of shots, reflecting the current difficult times.

I think that you should have said David is on another level compared to all videographers. Not only are the videos superb, but the style and presentation is also ahead of the field.

As for some previous comment in that something is lacking, that person should put up or shut up.

No doubt that will earn me some snide comment.

Once again an exceptional video from David, I believe Ralph's comment sums up my thoughts exactly. Goodness only knows what 46236 wants from life.

Thank you very much indeed Henry, Steve, Ralph, Shep, Dave, 84H - you've made me blush, so it's just as well that I'm trapped in the house :Shamefullyembarrased:. Very kind comments from you all and no doubt my first video post-restrictions will be a complete disaster. There is a band of merry men, of which you're all part, who play this equally delightful and frustrating game and long may that continue. It's very hard to explain this hobby to anyone not 'within it', and I look forward to seeing you and our fellow enthusiasts back at the lineside, or on the trains, whenever the time comes.

Interesting anecdote about PSOV, Henry - thanks and I think I know the shot you mean - 6201 on Shap in March, 2007. Dave Richards was on-board and couldn't believe the light which occurred on Shap - full sun, with dark skies behind and Lizzie hammering her way to the top with 13 and a dead 47 on. From memory, there was only a handful of us at the main Shap Wells spot - as was the casee on the bridge at the end of Cowran Cutting that dark October afternoon. Eleven years later, I still can't quite believe they got 46115 going again :D, brilliant to see.

I remember 46115 support crew, including JS, applying sand to the track and a brilliant piece of driving getting her out of the cutting

    Excellent, David, as always.

No it isn't; arguable - but I think that would spoil it; it's the only length it could possibly be - it's determined by the length of the song. Or were you trying to be ironic? In which case you need to be more obivous about it for the like of me
