    Don't forget that essentially 'Kilmersdon' was an ex-NCB industrial loco, not named until it passed to the S&DRT. In the early days the Trust's focus was heavily on the restoration and running of 53808, the use of industrials such as Kilmersdon and Isabel being confined mainly to odd bouts of shunting at WD, including as an 'attraction' on Gala days etc.

    It is only in recent years that the Kilmersdon has attracted more attention by virtue of being painted in full S&DJR lined Prussian Blue livery to match Coach 4 -and very nice they look together too. It's ironic really, given the adverse views of some about the 'non-prototypical' application of PB to '88', that not only did the Peckett never have that livery previously but it had no S&DJR association anyway, as it came from a colliery connected to the GWR !

    C579AC6C-1EE9-4F35-B58F-E5F8B3E080DD.jpeg This was my idea of how it could have looked with a brake van ride starting in or outside the goods shed. It will run down to a platform in the triangle where you can get off. I think lots of people would end up getting off at the triangle so it wouldn’t be unpopular. They could visit the massive yard where they’d have the shed they have now but lots of sidings. Then the brake van would carry on round the triangle and go back to the goods shed. People could get off on different rides they wouldn’t have to rush.

    I would rather that the S&DJRT remained where they are, and that the board offered their resignations, and the new inclusive WSR plc, Announced it was going to invite every member of the RAILWAY FAMILY to a series of meetings to ensure that in future one railway was the message, no more vested interests, no more calling people names. And as a show of support, the 2021 gala was going to be a S&DJR themed event and that they were going to bring together both 7fs, for it, and all profits were going to be given to the museum trust.

    I don't really know why I'm bothering to answer this, but here goes anyway, noting better to do...
    You can't just run passenger trains without a license, only the WSR has a license, and the WSR owns the triangle, which is by the way used relatively frequently. It certainly wouldn't have been possible when they first set up at Washford in the 1970s as the triangle wasn't there and the WSR didn't, and still does't, go there, so would benefit from no passing trade. And they'd still have needed their own license.
    Never. Going. to. Happen. The drawing is nice though, you could stick in on your fridge with a magnet. :)

    It is the best way to prove my ideas than writing them. It would work out of Bishops Lydeard and arrive back there’ and would give lots more to do at that end of the line.

    We understood the idea before you drew it - and I gave an answer for why it was implausible. Others have then given chapter and verse on why it won't happen.

    For all of our sakes, please just stop wittering about Kilmersdon and the S&DRT's trucks, or what rides they might offer with a little industrial on a long railway, or what the S&DRT might do with someone else's land in an alternate reality, and consider what this thread is really about - the announcement by the WSR plc that their sub-tenant, the S&DRT, must leave Washford.

    The ideas might be similar to something they could do when they have to remove all their stuff. These are positive ideas that the important people will be thinking from there so that they have a plan when they have to go. Or everyone can just be miserable about it and admit defeat. Or you can realise their potential. Or you can give up. My advice is never give up and also don’t wait for someone else to do it for you
