Nice to see that the group are supporting the SVR appeal in this difficult time.

I like the photo of 82045 next to Catch-me-who-can!

With regard the kind comments about "Beachy Head" and visits to other railways (to paraphrase) "by rail - but not mainline running": On the Bluebell, two of our locomotives have in recent years made such movements across the mainline, in steam but towed by diesels with the appropriate mainline electronics. C Class 592 went to Kings Cross in 2016; Standard 5 "Camelot" went to the West Somerset Railway in 2018 (I think, can't remember now). So such moves are perfectly feasible. Lots of logistics to certify and gauge the vehicle, but feasible nonetheless. (73082 went in broad daylight, by the way!)

Sad reading about the proxy votes and Legacy... A double-edged sword isn't it? All monies are welcome, but sadly members and supporters are being steadily lost too.

It is always extremely sad to see members and supporters pass away. Even more so that they have not lived to see 82045 in steam.

On a slightly brighter note, I understand that the Trust's overall membership shows a continuing upward trajectory, despite these sad and inevitable events.

Pehaps the loco could run with a headboard when it is complete to commemorate all those who supported the building but did not see it completed.

Good to see an update (the usual double-edged sword of regular updates - miss one and everyone wonders what's happened). Glad to see there is a glimmer of a resumption of activity. There's a middle ground between the big boys (P2/Clan being the obvious ones) who have a factory and the little ones (the NER 0-4-4 being an obvious one) who are entirely volunteer, where there is reliance on a professional workshop, but not in sufficient levels to be the top priority for those workshops (and the volunteers aren't able to come in and work for social distancing reasons), the 3MT, the Grange seem to be in that place.

The death thing is always going to be an issue for any long-term project, but I think they are dealing with it as positively as they can - they are at least grasping the nettle.

I am sure the Trust have in mind those who are unfortunately no longer with us, but have been loyal members and supporters.

When the wonderful day arrives in the not to distant future, for 82045 to have a fire in her belly, I am sure there will a poignant moment when the help and support of those no longer with us will be celebrated and remembered.

Some means of honouring those whose generosity will permit future generations to enjoy what tbey themselves never will seems in order. Might I perhaps float the idea, when the time comes, of the working loco's website featuring a permanent "in memoriam" page, as a tribute to all those who will have made 82045 possible? It might serve to enthuse those who follow to support those long term projects which they may have precious little chance of seeing come to fruition during tbeir own lifetimes?

As an aside, mention of this consideration was made, in an award citation (was it by English Heritage?) with regard to restoration of the Wey and Arun Canal ..... which I know full well I'll never live to see fully reopened!

Thanks. Re the September update and the image of the upturned front truck frame(2nd image down), what are the longitudinal springs (I think there are coil springs in the cups shown) fore and aft of the space for the sliding centre? Do they provide some damping to the side movement?
