From the SVR website: "Visiting locomotives are confirmed as No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell, making its first visit to the SVR, No. 71000 Duke of Gloucester, No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and No. 6233 Duchess of Sutherland". So I assume so!!! \:D/

6233 is not coming, another visitor is confirmed, will be revealed shortly I imagine. Isnt the two BR Standards an A4 and anything from the resident fleet enough to wet the appetite??

It would have to be a Castle or a King then, to fit in with the big engine theme......

The SVR website now shows 5029 Nunney Castle as attending and confirms that 6233 will no longer be present.

I'm buying a three day ticket to ride. Are there any decent non trespassing lineside shots to be had within easy walking distance of any stations along the route ? All decent suggestions gratefully received :)

Arley is always a good place if you fancy a walk by the river. You can get shots of the train crossing Victoria Bridge. Assuming there will be sun you can cross under the bridge and get photos from both sides according to the sun's position. The road bridge by the station is good as well. Plenty of places around Highley station including the balcony of the Engine House. At Hampton Loade there is a path from beside the station that leads back towards Highley, this can be good if the sun is out in the morning.
Just a few for you and I hope you have a good time.

    Best wishes,

    Paul

You could also have a decent pint in the Harbour Inn at Arley when waiting between trains...

Take the cycle track south from Hampton Loade and you can get to a couple of good spots just outside the station where the pathway rises level with the running line. Walking north from Bewdley (around 1/2 mile or so) along northwood lane will get you to a couple of places too. A fair bit further distance wise, but walkable from the station, is south from Bewdley on Safari Curve. Depends what you mean with 'easy' walking distance!

Thanks Craig. 'Easy walking distance' to me is not 3 or 4 miles over fields/rivers/caravan sites or anywhere else that gives people the excuse to point a finger and moan ! Thanks again :)
