    I spoke to the HMRI today on something totally unrelated but this cropped up in the general conversation. Basically he confirmed what I posted above. Nothing to do with the ORR

    Lots of keyboard warriors regurgitating what Uncle Bob said... Being involved with the road steam side now this conversation has come up plenty of times. The general accepted consensus is on your own property you can do what you want. Injure somebody as a result then hide when the lawyers roll up.

    However in a public place all relevant tests, insurance and competencies must be in place. That said i do remember a few years back a well known Mclaren Showmans engine trotting round the ring at a local show with no current boiler certificate.
