In reality I strongly believe that the Bluebell is the best place for them. In a few years most of them will have been there for more years than they were in main line service.

There's a trio of GER locos I'd love to see running. The E4 would be be fantastic to see running alongside the Y14 at the NNR and it'd be great to see a 2-4-0 running, are there any others? The J69 would be great at Epping and Ongar (or the NNR again with their collection of NE London suburban rolling stock) and I'd like the J17 too because I'm greedy and, didn't it run the last steam service out of Norwich?

I've always thought the E4 and Y14 would look rather nice together storming out of Sheringham together, bit biased as I'd have a nice view of the E4 at 31A with my current job.

Unfortunately I don't think it'd have the range to get there. Not sure how true it is/was but my mate Wernher [Von Braun] jokingly remarked that he was aiming for the moon. But only managed London and the South East of England!

I belive one failed to hit the Southern in 1966 although several were successful in the previous decade.

It was the height of the Cold War - strange things happened which the Government did their best to prevent you from finding out about.

As an example - how do you think Bracknell got designed? Something must have blown all the character away during the 1950s ...

I was just on about several V2's being drafted onto the southern when Bibby Line decided to lose a driving wheel.
    If there's something else though...

And obviously the mention of Wernher Von Braun fell on blind eyes. As Herr Von Braun's V2s were rockets and used in the last year or so of WW2 1944-5. Granted the victorious Allied power got their hands on several unused rockets in various states of repair. It could be said that the American Saturn 5 was a V2 on steroids........

If the MHR can be allowed two Southern engines, might the NYMR be allowed three - V2, Q7 and R1? After all, it's twice as long!

Bracknell, Designed, ? you mean someone actually thought about it  Now back on Subject, the next NRM loco to be de-accessioned will be anything GWR that they find hidden away in a dark corner in York, on the Grounds that Gresley, was indeed right. :p

The W&C Shunter to the LTM?

If not, I might know a few chaps who'd be interested... (No, we wouldn't - it's hassle enough trying to get a 483!!!)
