The last fifteen pages should be made into a book with some text from Ian Riley, James, Peter etc, printed by WCR's printers and all profits to WCR or their charities. Absolutely fantastic.

Um, John Hunt and I already have!

‘On the Iron Road to the Isles’, published last year by Silver Link.

We canvassed most of the charter participants for submissions, which, together with our own efforts, we aimed to produce what we hoped was the definitive collection of steam in the preservation/privatisation era.

I have also really enjoyed the images on this thread and had already considered suggesting a book.

I’m pleased to see that ‘On The Iron Road To The Isles’ already exists, and I have just ordered a copy online.

I thoroughly recommend it, along with The Jacobite Story DVD by Dave and Ben Collier

K1 & B1 renumbered as 62012 & 61243 Sir Harold Mitchell approaching Corrour Summit, October 2002. They are coupled the wrong way round, NB, LNER and later BR practice was to have the loco with the most carrying wheels leading. You do see pictures like this but it's not typical.

The same pair on the same day on the Horseshoe, taken from the old derelict footbridge. I wanted this picture as I had seen a Bill Anderson shot at the same location with the same engine combination but coupled the other way round

In September 2014 I was on the West Highland Steam Express, which was a great steam tour.
Whilst our train paused at Mallaig, the Jacobite rolled in with 44871.
Not very often you get two steam trains at Mallaig at the same time - plus about 300 passengers invading the wee town of Mallaig!
Photo probably spoiled by the busy car park, but lets hope Scotland opens up soon.
PS: We were due to be on holiday there this week near the Kyle of Lochalsh, but alas re scheduled for 2021.
