Dalesman 2020

Well, the York train is due to be passed at Hellifield by the LS Skipton to Appleby service at 1230, so it looks like that is not the problem. Or rather, if it is the problem, there is another problem!

 

Does this mean all the chester to carlisle Dalesmans will be out via the S. and C. Hellifield steam on and return via 10A steam off i tried to phone W.C.R.C. to find out why it is been run anti clockwise and to transfer my booking to the york to carlisle Dalesman but had to contact them via Email.

 

As it stands, that's what is up on RTT, yes.

 

Any suggestions as to motive power on the steam sections yet?

 

Timings for the 28th have now disappeared from RTT. Cancellation or correction?

I was planning to watch this near Appleby, but as 5098 says it has completely disappeared and indeed isn't even showing on the Carlisle list for that day. It must be very confusing for the passengers as there is nothing suggesting a change showing on the West Coast website

 

As @1020 Shireman pointed out upthread, there was a conflict between the routing given on the WCR website (out via Shap, return via S&C) and RTT (out via S&C, return via Shap). Given that the RTT data has now disappeared and the WCR website still shows the train as running, I would expect new timings to appear on RTT at some stage with clockwise routing as per WCR.

 

The only thing to add there is that the West Coast web site says the Dalesman start date of the 28th July is still provisional, whereas the Scarborough Spa start date of the 30th July is no longer provisional.

 

We will find out in due course if anything is set alight at 10A

Looking at the WCR site this morning and RTT, it looks as though 28 July is off, Dalesman season starting 4 August with the Chester runs northbound S and C southbound Shap.

 

28th July is still on the West Coast site, Chester trips are just below the York runs

Should have there also been a loaded test run round the hellifield blackburn circuit anyhow with 1 of 10A,s pool of locos if the dalesman was due to run next tuesday or would there have been no need with the locos been in ticket?

 

Or should that the pendle dalesman from scarborough have been diverted and booked to go via and pick up at pontefract monkhill i reckon it would be alot more direct do you mean tony?
