Swanage Railway General Discussion

Relieved to hear that "big chufferitis" has received a setback.

 

Not big chufferitis. Just a vendetta.

 

Someone with a vendetta, who is no longer at the railway? Must have found common ground with the folks 100 miles north west of Swanage.

 

That's so worrying, I went and got my maps out ...... Is there sommat going on at the Brecon Mountain Rly we should know about?

As a regular Swanage signalman who lives in Stogumber, I can tell you that the distance is 82.4 miles...

And the direction seems to be more 'North West by West' in old fashioned sailing parlance.
Me fers that beating the wrong course may land ye on the reef!

Good to see 34072 in service at the railway today. What a superb loco.

Bookings appear to be reasonable today.

A BBC report suggests that the roads at Bournemouth were gridlocked by 9am this morning. The beaches have been heaving.

They're numpties. They should have gone to Swanage for a ride behind 34072. <BJ>

 

Swanage wasn't much better. I had to go from Swanage to Poole this afternoon and it was solid in the opposite direction from Upton Bypass to Corfe. The traffic from Corfe to Swanage was lighter, so I suppose some had given up and gone to Norden to catch the train.

No, it isn't.
I had to telephone this afternoon to make a booking.
