Sounds like a pretty good performance for a Class 7 on the climb to Ais Gill. Certainly one of 46115's better efforts.

Certainly wished could have been on today’s train. 46115 has been going very well since it’s return from overhaul.

Heading south through Mallerstang in the weak light, sounded very nice:

Glad the day went well and with no lineside fires. That's reassuring. Would be helpful to know about how the seating worked out. Have seen the theoretical plan but what happened in practice would be good to know including movement around the train and how the RTC handled catering (in Standard).

We’ve had plenty of rain in the NW throughout July everything is green and lush, thankfully not the conditions for line side fires.

I think that Graham’s comment was “tongue in cheek” - an impressive trick whilst wearing a face covering.

Good reply Big Al, mainly because I am booked on a tour with RTC in a few weeks time and I'm interested how yesterdays passengers felt while actually on board.
I will have to travel to London and stay in an already booked hotel for two nights to join the tour, therefore I am taking that in to consideration also.
As I fall in to the at "moderate" risk bracket, as far as the pandemic is concerned, I am far from comfortable from venturing on a tour at the present moment. Perhaps I will feel keener in a month or two.
I have seen what the WCRC have done to the interiors of the coaches for the Jacobite stock and personally I think they look like hospital coaches and would choose not to travel with them at the present time.
I thank anyone in advance for posting their experience on board yesterday's tour, especially if they travelled in First Class, as I am booked to travel in the near future.

I was a solo traveller and had a 4 seat bay to myself in Coach F (the Buffet car as it used to be!). Some others were in Family groups or 'Social Hubs' around tables, but I only saw this through the windows as the train arrived in Crewe and later observed at Carlisle and Appleby. One of the Stewards mentioned about 40% occupancy.
Catering...regular visits from the trolley, I had a couple of panads during the journey but I reckon he passed by 5-6 times during the day. The usual fare seemed to be available.
I didn't see any movement around the train (except the occasional toilet visit). Didn't move myself.
Face Coverings...I would estimate at 100% (certainly better than Avanti/TFW trains that I used from Bangor-Crewe and Preston-Bangor). First time I have been on a train with a face covering, and as someone said on another thread, eventually you just forget it's there.
I felt totally safe, would go again, and would just wish to thank RTC ( Volunteer Stewards as ever impressive) and WCR for making it happen. Good tobe back on a train!
happy to answer any specific questions (if I can).

The buffet bar was closed but there was a trolly service on the train instead on standard and the usual handing out of bacon rolls.
