Any one up for any of these four? My own preference would be for North British Green. I also like how the cylinder covers are painted, was that a Darlington preference?

Just out of interest was that a region thing? Blue Peter’s had red, black and light blue plates, 35028 has red and black plates. I’ve always thought the light blue was a Scottish thing?

 

Pale blue is a good nameplate colour. Ask any BB Pacific owner.

 

How about WC owners?

 

Any colour that's not red! Red looks magnificent on an ex-LMS or ex-LT engine, not so much on (almost) anything else...

Taw Valley's red makeover was horrific, but 2253 Omaha wears the red well.

I agree about the nameplate. 60114 'W P Allen' (36A Doncaster) had the pale blue nameplate when I saw it in 1964. Eye-catching at the time, maybe the only pale blue plate I saw and I remember it with fondness, but it clashed with the loco.

The pale blue on that huge Tornado nameplate detracts. Black, as you say, or red would have been better.

 

How would Blue Peter fit in with that though?
