Given the rise in infections of Covid-19 which are now becoming serious news in many parts of the UK, this may cause some doubt about some of the proposed re-openings.
Some of the lines already open must also be considering how things will transpire such as the SVR with its proximity to Birmingham.

Interestingly the SVR has just announced an extension of its services https://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=170

Whilst having a browse on the internet, I noticed from the Mid-Norfolk Railway FB page that they have now abandoned plans to operate their "Polar Express" trains this year, which will be quite a financial blow to them.

Although not mentioned in the link, it seems that their Halloween event is now cancelled due to Covid issues in South Wales.

Llangollen Railway closed again after tomorrow until at least 14th October. New lockdown rules in Denbighshire are the reason.

As it looks like we may well be going into round 2 of Covid perhaps this thread now needs an alternative title?

I did post on the Llangollen Railway thread that with the "local" lockdowns that seem to becoming ever more national the forced closure than the Llangollen Railway are having to endure could be a problem for other railways as even if a railway may be outside a lockdown area a good proportion of volunteers and passengers may not be. Could be a real headache for those railways who have put a lot of effort into finding ways of running Santa trains as I can see the English Rules being very heavy handed in the period before Christmas to get the number of cases very low so that people can have a more normal Christmas period.

I suggest we leave for now . Wales has adopted a different approach to lockdowns than England
