    Update on the above, just received an email apparently there are 12 seats left on the September 19th run and 24 for the 3rd October trip, so it appears that the trains will be running

    There's some times now on RTT for the 19th, heading north on the S&C and returning over Shap, stops at hellifield for 35 mins 11.21-11.56

    Mrs W accompanied me to Oram’s Xng - plenty of photographers about in the fields. Lizzie looked a picture, highlighted by a burst of autumnal sunshine, the blowing draincock on the driver’s side heralded her arrival (2E). The resplendent Northern Belle stock hurried by with Windsor Castle in matching livery attached to the rear (and giving a fair push, thus ruining any attempts to be a “stealth diesel”).

    The Northern Belle is about something quite different from what a steam enthusiast might wish for and to be honest, if it was (Covid) full of people today then that is good and a welcome income for the loco owners. By contrast, the southern version of pullman luxury usually meets both needs when steam is at the front. Sorry - just had to say that.
