This past weekend the Czech steam motor railcar "Komarek" was in action on the main line in Prague for the annual "Railway Day" festival. In addition to the Great Western Railcar No. 93 in Didcot and the Swiss steam motor Nr. 31 (built in 1902), the vintage 1904 Czech railcar is just one of three such rare vehicles in Europe.

It was designed by the Komarek company in Vienna and fitted with a Komarek vertical boiler. The wooden coach body was supplied by Ringhoffer (later Tatra) in Prague.

Here a short film clip of the railcar in steam and in action in Prague.
