I’m sure for the sake of the support crew the start from you part of the world will be in daylight. The journey down is taking 14 hours!

 

You never know. A couple of visiting loco's in the distant past (70000 and 60163 IIRC) have left the MHR in the early hours of the morning.

 

Ex-LMS Jubilee class 4-6-0 No. 45596 Bahamas passing through Hartford some 15 minutes early today during a positioning move from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway to the Mid Hants Railway.

I think the Bash Mash voted Bahamas and Clan Line as the two best presented locos on the mainline. Maybe they will be seen together one day.

I’m only there for a couple of days. More than two return peak hour trips round the M25 is too much to bear

 

Err no! Seriously I have an interest in both camps but I think 35028 gets it by a whisker

 

In pouring rain Bahamas rolls down the WCML at Heamies Farm, Norton Bridge, towards adverse signals at Little Bridgeford junction where a Voyager was coming off the Stoke line in front of it. Typically within a few minutes of its passing the sun reappeared.

 

45596 just rolled over the bridge along Boxalls Lane in Aldershot a few minutes down. Saw the glow of the fire in the dark and heard the distinctive sound of the valve gear as she coasted down hill. First steam working I have seen since March. I hope everything goes well for the Gala.

Bahamas running around its support coach in Guildford last night. Checkout @5:50 for a sweet little coupling.

 

Looks like the crew stopped half way to polish it again...such is Northern care and attention...
