You mean a stranger like this Mike? If a Hall thinks it's a Castle, there is nothing to stop you pretending it's a Grange.....:)

A reference was made earlier on the thread about been 'late to the game'. I also can be classed as a 'late comer' and it seems almost appropriate that I post something months after the thread last had a hit.
Firstly the set of 100+ photos that are on here are splendid, taken excellently by a great and talented bunch of photographers, even when the sun didn't shine. Thanks to you all for sharing.
My first Jacobite wasn't until October 2014 where I was fortunate enough to attend the 2014 Bash that yielded some excellent results in favorable weather - - The pictures below, whilst much similar to those already posted previously, are some of my all time favorites, even if my camera wasn't great.

A number of visits have occurred since 2014, thought always in the autumn, 2019 was my first experience of 2 train service and again yielded nice results in favorable weather.

That brings me to 2020 and despite the year we have had, the Jacobite continues to depart Fort William right on time, a real credit to all involved, With most friendly and accommodating foot-plate crew.

With another lockdown upon us, in various forms across the country, I thought I'd share this 20mins or so shot in 2012 with June footage and October footage from myself and July from my Dad. It was all shot without an external mic (one couldn't be attached to that camera!) so there is some clicks and wind noise, sadly some sequences were just too noisy to use. The famous last week mists are included towards to the end.

Anyway, hopefully it gives people some enjoyment for a few minutes!

Last week saw the end of the 2025 Jacobite season. I made my usual 500 mile treke to record it in typical Highland weather, sun, cloud, rain and even fog on one morning. Here are some of the results. Locations are: at the Wetlands, Climbing towards Glenfinnan Summit, Arnabol Viaduct (exhaust by arrangement with driver Ian Riley), leaving Fort William coming under the bridge that formerly carried the Lochaber Narrow Gauge Railway, between Beasdale Tunnels 3 & 4, between Lochailort Rockface and the Tunnel, Approaching Glenfinnan Summit and finally slogging up to Glen Douglas Summit with the returning ECS to Carnforth.
