S&D trust would I fear be far better off relocating in full .Remove everything . 10 year lease with a reduction in access resulting feels a rather long winded way of evicting by stealth

I can't for the life of me see how the Trust could have any confidence in any new lease from the plc.

Nah, the sweetener. It keeps the sheds and tracks there, then they can say we're just leaving this equipment in the yard or we need your shed space.

What decisions was the trust forced to make?

"It was decided that a physical move of at least some of the artefacts away from Washford where access has always been difficult, is desirable. It must also be said that, over the considerable period in which I have been involved with the Trust, this thought has cropped up time and time again, including at AGMs. Up until now we have not displayed the courage to carry this out." https://www.sdrt.org/images/files/news/press_release_05-11-20.pdf

Perhaps it's just to allow the SDRT more time to organize a complete departure in an un-hurried way: find a new location, raise any needed funds, do the move, etc, etc.

If I am perfectly honest, that would be the best possible outcome for all concerned, as the trust only has access now to the yard, and some of its assets are in the process of being relocated to the MHR, Over time, I would expect more stuff will be moved, especially rolling stock especially if it proves to not be able to do much with it at Washford.

It was a bit dark to take any photos of it's arrival on Monday evening (at least with the P&S Camera I had with me), but it arrived safely and was unloaded without any issues as far as I could see.
Yes, I understand it will be gainfully employed.

Did the S&DRT take the opportunity load it with some smaller assets in order to save on transport costs?

Since arrival it has been moved to the carriage works and the draw gear stripped out for testing (it passed) painting and reassembly. It is having a pad exam and vacuum brake exam and next week will have a generator fitted to power one of the two steam illuminations trains.

We are really grateful to the S and D for the loan. We had intended to use our BY, but we found a few extra jobs to do and the PMV reduced the workload.

The BY will still be finished, just not at a breakneck pace. The generator fit will not affect any of the vehicles permanently.

Might also give them more time to remove their larger items such as buildings and track..... ;)

That would be a good idea if the wagon was empty ...... it's already fitted out with museum displays and MHR will be adding a generator inside to power their Christmas illuminated trains. Happy Christmas !!

Isn't it nice to have your new host railway actually value you, the MHR needed a wagon, and the S&D Trust said borrow ours, its all about helping each other out .

Depending on which generator van ends up on which set...the 7F might be paired with the PMV.

Given that the illuminated trains run over several days, this is quite likely to happen at some point. That’s assuming the 7F is used on the illuminated trains, or if other locos are better suited to having the lights fitted to them.
