Probably best to email them your comments, then you have a record. My email was answered pretty quickly.

Moving the crossing is a big idea. I think it’s also not good as that’s where the road is and it’s built for the road. Moving it to somewhere else is not good idea. I don’t think anyone would think about it as the road people will not want to close the road or moove it

For those members for whom WSRA does not have an e-mail address recorded or who have possibly declined the electronic news letter.

If you go th the WSRA web site and look under the news itens you'll find an article that links to the survey.

BTW if you fill in the survey or the comments then you should see a "thank you" message and the text you have typed will indeed "disappear" from your screen at that point. (It does not dissapear it moves to a dedicated e-mail in box. )

Please note it is a WSRA members survey. We are not accepting comments or responses from non-members. (I'll leave non members to figure out how to have their say - but you can join on-line :).)

The survey results will be collated and submitted to the ongoing discussions and shared at PDG.

I clicked on the Submit button for additional comments. I don't remember whether any "thank you" message appeared. What concerned me was uncertainty whether the Submit button for additional comments caused my answers to the four questions and my explanations of the unsure answers to be submitted or lost. I did not make any record of my exact wording, so if I fill the whole thing in again the WSRA will get two slightly different sets of answers from me, think I am trying to "vote early, vote often" and perhaps ignore both sets.

Reminds me of a story I heard about Crewkerne station: A passenger having alighted at Crewkerne, had failed to find a taxi into town that didn't involve half an hour's wait. Whilst waiting he asked the staff there, sarcastically, "When they built this station, why didn't they they think of building it closer to the town?", to which came the reply ,"I expect they did, but then thought it better to build it closer to the railway".

The way this survey has been built or is working is certainly very odd and causes unnecessary concerns about whether both parts have been submitted - if you complete both parts and press the left hand Submit button, the left side disappears but the free form text boxes on the right turn blank but the right hand submit button remains - it is unclear if the free form text has been submitted and I didn't get a "thank you" message

Thread drift. Sorry. There are plenty of those stories. Witley in Surrey on the Portsmouth Direct line that was once Witley and Chiddingfold is nowhere near either and is actually at Wormley.

Guys we are working on this within the constraints of the web platform we use.
I'm sorry it's not perfect but in the end I felt it was more important WSRA members had a voice. I was not going to see us hide behind "too difficult".
I had considered just saying write to me but that didn't seem sufficient.
Let me assure all of you that we have your thoughts and your votes and I think I've answered everybody who asked for a reply so far.

Can I also use this opportunity to clarify something I've seen crop up once or twice.

You cannot create a "boss charity" on the railway and have all the other charities report to it. Each charity has to be independant and to be true to its objects. A large part of the problems that have dogged the WSR in years past stem from one organisation thinking it held sway over another.
    So:
    • You can have a number of charities seeking to collaborate to support a single aim.
    • You can have a single charity that looks after the whole railway.
    • The operating company can be independant or it can be wholly owned by a charity.
In a nutshell, those are the choices. Whatever structure is chosen will inevitably effect the future success and sustainability of the WSR. There is no absolute right answer. Part of the reason why the WSR plc and the WSRA are seeking views on the matter.

I've always thought this story to be apocryphal, but the difficulty of getting taxis at Crewkerne station is real.

Or, indeed, seeking to hold sway over another.
You can have as many charities as you like on the railway, but only one for the railway. If the WSR goes down the Bailey route, even the renamed WSRHT still has connotations of being for the railway.

I have just had exactly the same experience. No acknowledgment. Which would have been nice.

Andy I am not aware if we have ever met but I am not insulting you!

Like you I have a dyslexic tendency and still find reading very difficult, I did not read until I was eight years of age and then had to have private lessons. I know I was a considerable embarrassment and disappointment to my Father as a consequence as he just could not understand my problem!

As a Salesman by Profession I advocate making a message simple and easy to understand - Introduce it talk about it and conclude it - the shorter the better if you want your message to be crystal clear, read and understood.

I have read your post completely but I am not sure what point you were trying to make as so much of it has been said before!

and for the record I do not believe in the removal of ID cards but do believe in teams being able to operate without disruptive influences however good the individual may or may not be.

Closed is not very beneficial to those people want information is it?

PR is definitely in need of a reboot!

I actually feel that reading all the GWSR blogs makes me feel involved and to the extent I will restart my voluntary work again this time with them after lock down is concluded.

Yep WSR plc Publicity Department is wanting and if we did not have .org we would get next to nothing!

Then poor old Steve Edge can only share what he is fed

Does a brilliant job from afar!
