Mind you Alex what happened to the GWSR Boardroom Blog?

Perhaps you could have a word with your Chairman colleague in C & W?

You engage which is the important thing and you are not even on the Board but obviously 'know' what would be acceptable to them.

I thought Director Steve Williams had Responsibility and Accountability for Public Relations?

I have Richard, on a couple of occasions, to little effect. :( I haven't the heart any more, RJ is horrendously busy, he has a large brief as it is. But as and when I bump into another director or two, I shall see if I can cajole them a bit. You are not the only one who misses it.

and does a fantastic job from a distance!

It is not a criticism of RJ Alex but someone needs to do it - perhaps the C0mpany Secretary as he has to be responsible for the minutes?

I find it wonderful that you can work with RJ as a colleague in C & W where he is able to quietly enjoy his hobby away from the pressures of being Chairman!

You have put your finger on it Richard, RJ is also company secretary, and also the C&W responsible director too! So it's not always quietly enjoying his hobby when he comes into C&W either, he does sometimes get a little bombarded with conversations. I think that's why he likes to do a TTI turn when he can too, it's more incognito!

I do think it is good that virtually all of our directors are to be seen doing "ordinary" roles on the railway as well. I have agreed before that it isn't essential that all board directors do this, you don't want to shut out relevant experience by stipulating it, but it just makes it "feel" right.

I think JJP keeping his own Council is a very wise decision!

Anyway in the absence of being told otherwise is it reasonable to assume that the SDRPT are being given the necessary time to relocate?

I have received an acknowledgement of my response to the WSRA questionnaire. That much is good.

Not good is the inclusion of this statement: "the PLC recently publicly committed to working towards a proposal that could be put to shareholders at next year's AGM". I take that to imply that the WSRA agrees with the PLC's timescale and so that, while some preliminary work may continue in a lackadaisical fashion, there will be no actual change to the WSR's structure until more than a year from now. Form your own conclusions, but I know what mine are.

As I think I mentioned the WSRA does not hold sway over the WSR plc. WSRA repeating something by reproducing a link to a WSR plc document in no way implies that WSRA either agree or disagree with what it says. WSRA have listened sympathetically and openly to what's been put forward and broadly we can understand the timescale. It's also true that WSRA have said we'd call an EGM if required to allow members to consider a proposal if one appeared sooner.

Can I remind WSRA members again that you are welcome to contact me if there is something about the current discussion or process that bothers you.

I can't believe I have finally caught up!

Is it the lack of complicated and lengthy posts I wonder?

Good to see movement on the railway once again

Does anyone else want to see more complex and lengthy posts? I'm happy as they are. <BJ>

Does this mean Mike that the WSRA could also have called for an EGM of the WSR plc over the SDRT eviction Notice over Washford, but didn't do so?

The WSSRT and WSRA are both tarred with the same brush over this scandalous inaction, and support of the WSR plc board over all this.

    Shame on all of you.

As I said over the 'new 10 candidates' for the WSSRT, and the old WSSRT board, the WSRA has also been complicit in the WSR plc board's Notice to Quit of Washford.

Not the best basis to engender support on any level.

Don't you just love a really constructive post - so typical of this thread. It seems that the only people in Somerset fit to be running the railway would be the S&DRT.

Totally agree. Its time to drop this campaign to implicate the WSSRT & WSRA in the Washford situation. Its going nowhere and getting in the way of constructive comment.
