I've just seen a photo elsewhere of a 9F, reportedly 92219, on a low loader & heading west on the A66. Is this a portent of better times to come for one of preservation's less fortunate locomotives? She looked very sad when I saw her at Leeming Bar last year.

Wasn't it supposed to be going to Kirkby Stephen East? I seem to recall somewhere that it was. Hopefully better times lay ahead for it.

It does indeed - as other west side restoration sites in England & Wales would be better accessed by the M62.

As for Booths - someone needs a better satnag! :D

Claims over on Faceache that its off to a private site. Last I heard anything about it was when it left Kirkby Stephen and the owner was statementeering about how having to move it was going to take money away from restoring it. Has any other rolling stock been seen on the road? My understanding was the owner had some rolling stock it took to Wensleydale as well.

Can’t add any insight but I hope this does get restored one day. In my mind it’s significant as BR’s last “proper” steam engine (since the one after it was always a show pony).

that was to wind up a gentleman who has 40ish groups created for engines (including 92219) that he is going to buy and take main line. any dissent usually sees you blocked . Most people seem to join now to simply troll him , or the usual acolytes who join everything . Majority of postings are lets welcome our new members

once someone gets his address I'm expecting a slew of legal letters arriving on his doorstep .

6023, 4920,46235, 44901 45110 48624 48773 ,30830 ,5051 and 4079 , the list is endless . He can get very abusive if you question him , although generally evades them and has a business plan relying on a lottery win . Desperately deluded sadly

At least he's honest about needing a lottery win! As if money is all it takes though.

Said gentleman has learning difficulties, I suspect him posting the groups is part of his coping mechanism

To be fair, there are a lot of delusional people involved with railways. I mean there is a former pop producer, etc etc so wealth is not necessarily a barrier to delusions.

I think you are right , although he does have a few marbles . each group has the same admins , sadly as challenged as I suspect he is . More frighteningly encourage by family members.

The trouble for him is his coping mechanism is opening him to some really nasty abuse . Way beyond a gentle banter to serious personal abuse which is not going to help him especially as his video channel allows anyone to identify him . I can see a physical attack at some point as he quite often posts where he is . With one of my own with cognitive condition and given to panic I can only imagine the lads terror if the worse were to happen

I believe that thanks to its green colour and its name being similar to e.g., Morning Star, 92220 was once mistakenly rostered on an express turn from Cardiff and reached 90mph. It also re-started the last down "Pines Express" on the 1 in 50 to Masbury Summit from a standing start with 12 coaches on, so it certainly worked for its living during its brief BR career. However, I take your point - 92219 could be regarded as the last "run of the mill" steam loco built by BR.

You see, I always felt 92218 was the last "proper" workaday steam engine, because 92219 had the celebrity value of being the last one before the show pony ... ;)
