Not on the GWSR while I've got anything to do with the paintshop! Have the ELR not got blue and grey coaches and presumably a blue diesel or two among their fleet?

Mmmm, to me DMUs should be overall blue unless they were the posh Swindon/Transpennine units. I still remember the first time I saw one of the white-with-a-blue-stripe units, quite took me aback. It was on a Good Friday in the late 70s, when that day had a different timetable.

I remember a time when the GWSR planned to have a set of Blue and Grey Mk2’s to go with their diesels ;)

"DMUs should be overall blue"? I remember we got a fair bit of critisism for running a DMU in those colours in the early days of EOR :D

    A 1980s weekend and a WW2 event. Why not have both? <BJ>

The Mid Norfolk do a decent 1980’s event although some might say that part of Norfolk still lives there... ;):)

Well, best not on the same weekend...

Is there anywhere that *doesn't* have a 1940s weekend?

Most railways have events that offer a window into the past, in Norfolk an 80s weekend is a window into the future.

In Somerset a 40s weekend serves the same function and on the Isle of Wight, an Edwardian weekend. As for the Isle of Man...

"We are still working to understand the implication of the announcement this afternoon that Gloucestershire is moving into Tier 3 of the COVID-19 measures, and especially how it will impact the post Chirstmas trains. Further information will be provided as soon as possible." - From our Facebook page. All is not lost yet then...

Currently booked to visit the railway on 3rd January but obviously today's announcement may scupper that. Broadway is in Worcestershire, which is still tier 2, so if passengers start and end their journeys there it may be permissible, as they'll simply be passing through a tier 3 area whilst heading to and from a tier 2 area, which I believe is allowed under the tier rules.
Anyway, will await the GWSR's decision.

"With the continuing spread of the coronavirus, Gloucestershire will be moved into Tier 3 from Boxing Day. The Board has sadly decided that train operations will be suspended from the close of business on 24th December. All trains timetabled to operate between 27th December and 3rd January are now cancelled. The safety of our visitors and Volunteers remains our parmaount concern.

A full refund will be made automatiacally to those who have booked seats during this period. Our sales team will be in touch to confirm this."

Also all non-essential volunteering banned, so that's me twiddling my thumbs again. :(
