Hudswell Clarke 'Firefly'

Does anyone know where this loco is at the moment, and what its current state is? I seem to recall it was to be overhauled for the Dartmoor Railway, but I guess plans may have changed given circumstances last year.

No, I was looking for information on a Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T. If I remember correctly it was the only steam loco owned, and sold, by what was then Railtrack.

 

Is this 65 at the Derwent Valley Light Railway?

 

Doubt it seeing as its been in preservation longer than this....
Are you meaning one of the locos that was in one of the doncaster mainline yards? I think I read somewhere there were two.

 

I'm pretty sure it used to be at Colwyn Bay with a Mark 1 coach, but was removed about 5 years ago or so.

Thanks, I'd seen that. I just wondered whether anyone had any more up-to-date information, given the turmoil around the Dartmoor Railway last year.

Am i right in thinking she is a PLA class type loco the cylinders and wheels look close to 140

 

Sure is. Here's a pic in happier times. Fitted with a Hunslet underfeed stoker and working at Newmarket Colliery

 

Did she belong to Dartmoor Railway or ECT?

Sure a Dartmoor kettle went there for restoration.

 

looks very similar to 1800 (thomas)at nene valley

 

Gareth thats because it is the same as 1800 they are of the PLA class (port of london)

 

RMS locotech are based at the weardale railway not wakefield
