    Evening All,

The latest addition to my new YouTube channel is of a ride on the P'tit Train de la Haute Somme in northern France. Here's the link if anyone would like to have a look:

    Hope it's of interest.

A charming little railway. Did a day trip there from Bedfordshire - that was a very long day - to one of their galas when the FR Alco visited. Superb event.

Yes, a long way for a day trip unless one lives in Kent. We were on holiday in the area for a fortnight, so didn't have far to go. There'll be a second instalment in due course, so watch this space...

Don't they have a gathering every 3 years working with some other lines in the area?
    With a mix of gauges.

The Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme have a steam festival every three years with the next one, covid permitting, next July. I don't know whether the P'tit Train de Haute Somme will be involved though. It's a different gauge, so probably not.

They do have their own gala days though, and in the past the Ffestiniog Railway's MOUNTAINEER has been a guest there.

The Steam Gala at Cappy Froissy is scheduled for the w/e of May 22nd-23rd 2021 if that's any help. We went in 2017 and it was absolutely brilliant lots of WW1 items 'out of the box' and steam up the zig-zag to Dompierre. Even the Welsh contingent were there with 'Buster'. It's a lovely line. Sadly I've only been there once. Got the ferry Friday evening after work to get there for 6am for an early morning photo charter. By the time I got to bed I'd been up for about 44 hours and driven 500 miles!

Thanks for the tip. Let's hope that covid doesn't throw a spanner in the works!

I love that location for no.10. An ungated level crossing right by a tunnel mouth. Don't get stuck on it as I doubt the crew will know you're there until they hit you.

They have (on at least one occasion) built a 600mm line down the high street of one of the towns - for the Baie de Somme's Fete Vapeur. I've been to three of them - they are some the best special events I've ever been to. https://www.flickr.com/photos/timmydunn/8689903091/in/album-72157633374565170/
