I remember Geoffs derail vividly, I witnessed it. I ended up doing a fair few of the repairs to the coaches.

Now I get pleasure... of repairing the cock ups after a heavy whack. I cant remember exactly, so I will consult McQuade at work tomorrow but I think Blakey holds the record for the greatest distant the stops were pushed back.

Since our learned friend is such an expert in Google Maps, I'm amazed he missed the houses built on the track bed by the field that would be a solid million to buy and demolish. And for what?

The Lyndon and Barnstaple railway is buying houses and demolishing them so there are possibles that they could clear the way

Ahha, so there is an extension! CoT's interrogation techniques are clearly more advanced than we gave him credit for...

Genuine question, why would the MHR do that? Whats in Itchens Abbas thats so important they demolish 6 (God theyre tiny) £450k homes? What benefit to them or the locals would be gotten?

Can you please give us an example of where the L&B have demolished a house or houses?
    Thanks

Well I have lost the plot completely here, we seem to have moved from Hampshire to Shropshire to Devon and even changed gauge!
As a Life member of the MHR since 1976, I can totally confirm that there has NEVER been any proposal to extend towards Winchester.
As well as the school and housing at Alresford and Itchen Abbas, most of the track formation has been filled in and returned to agriculture
use for the last forty years.
At least the thread drift is a welcome change from the regular WSR keyboard warriors droning on and on about the same thing!

For keen followers of Google Maps you might have noticed that one of the ex channel tunnel boring machines has disappeared and has been reassembled under a grassy knowle and is currently heading underground for Winchester. This will avoid all purchases of property and buildings on the line. The spoil is being hidden in volunteer's trousers and is being trodden into the ground on their way to the car park. It's true, the internet says so...

I can’t find the one they did but I will find evidence they did. They are actually going to swoop around one building that’s there but it’s a lot like that. They definitely have been knocking down a building somewhere in Devon as I’ve seen it before

It's a distraction technique so no-one notices the work taking place at Alton to head off south down the Meon Valley. (A lot of work done at Butts Junction a year or so ago, eh? Can it be coincidence? I think not!)

You will struggle to find it, as they haven't knocked down any houses. I really wish you would think before posting.

The only thing I can think of with regards to the L&B is the gradual removal of the post closure extension on Chelfham Station. I guess, eventually, there will have to be demolition of "The Halt" at Parracombe, but the planning application makes clear that it'll be replaced with 2 other houses. In the case of the other building on the way of the current extension plans (the extended Blackmoor Gate Station) the railway is going to be moved around it.

The L and B R do have planning permission to remove a small modern house to restore a halt as it was. There is no need to build a replacement (or 2) as this was not granted.

    Looking at the stocklist https://www.sdrt.org/Stock-List.Html
looks like all the locos, 4 carriages and wagons can be stored in existing mid Hants sidings. Presumably the carriages restoration can be progressed. One Mk1 coach is used as part of the museum, which station will be best?
