I am NOT the "the manager" but I can explain this bit...
    That's where we're offering a home to XH558.
When we fit the catapult that was salvaged from Ark Royal we'll use it to assist takeoffs as it's a bit short otherwise, and the assistance will help with noise abaitment.

If the MHR chose to go north rather than South, the mainline connection into Basingstoke is already in situ:

    https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.2675642,-1.1041827,278m/data=!3m1!1e3

Plus some of the track is already laid:

    https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...4452cfa34f9e16c!8m2!3d51.2488292!4d-1.0991021

The extension is as good as in the bag.

    Vive les crayonistas!

Ah the old Thornycroft Line, it will be a real Milestone when the MHR reopen that (Residents of Basingstoke may see a little joke concealed in this post)

I know everyone's going a little batty with lockdowns, but can we please get back to the SDRT? (Maybe discussion about the MHR sould be on its thread.) Thanks.

Yes the ideas of my research was to be where the sdrt could decide to put their engines wagons and the exibistionist carriages when they get to the mhr. I think some people have moved on from that now but the main points they were making were about the sdrt

Never mind adding 2+2: some people on here seem to relish adding 1+1 and getting a few thousand.

I hear the Epping and ongar have been asked if they can offer their railway for an remake of Oh Mr Porter, :D or is it carry on up the platform, And isnt it about time someone did a remake of the Great St TRINNIANS train robbery, the MHR have an Hampshire unit, but would @'21B be prepared to dress up as a school girl for the action sequences though

    From the Swanage thread.

In response to noisy children a number of years ago there was a letter to a railway magazine advocating 'adults only' carriages. Clearly the Epping and Ongar understood the letter differently to others.
