Now that it is obvious that there will not be any trains for quite a while yet, there is a need to return to SOS and donate again. However make sure you have maximized all previous giving over the last 4 years by signing the Gift Aid form (if you are a UK taxpayer) The form can be found here
    https://a5eccf77-5c57-47de-ab17-84f...d/974c1b_d76db6c9bb9f42e9bdbe6def387e2547.pdf
You will need to Print, Sign,Copy to PDF and email to address on the form. Now is the time for us to help the railway survive and prosper.

I remeber turning up at Swanage one day for a trip and in the train was the milk tanker.

As one of the staff said they were trying to recreate the sort of thing you might have seen on a branch or secondary line.

A vehicle that I really appreciate is the PMV parcel van that's added to various passenger services. It really catches the eye of the general public. <BJ>

Yes, the PMV always looks good, its the sort of thing that we will be looking to recreate with the CCT (1449) once that is restored as well.

Mind you, even without any special vehicles added to the passenger stock, Mr Biggles200's photo is a timely reminder of just how at home the M7 looks on the line. One has to stop and recall that 30053 was once located in North America and those of us who can remember that time never thought it would return to the UK. Now it's so much part of the Swanage scene that it's easy to forget this. It will be great to see it back in action again. With the T3 to look forward as well to and the T9 being assessed for a possible return to steam, the Swanage Railway could be looking forward to an L&SWR line-up that the pioneer members could never have remotely dreamed of.

Odd, I was thinking just that when looking at the (super) photo above. Great place to threaten rowdy sproggits with too!

I like when wagons are put into trains too. A good idea would be to have one of the post offices that you could walk into when the train was moving and see people sorting the post. You could make a few volunteers stay in there as post staff. Would be another excitement as will look good from the outside and also something to do on the train

Glad you liked it, my immediate thought is that it a shame that the M7's "traveling friend" "Repton" hasn't visited the railway. It would be lovely for traveling friends" to meet up again. I used love watching the Schools Class tearing through suburbia on their way to Waterloo.

Wouldn’t it be nice! Just out of interest did they both go Stateside on the same boat? Or did they both come back together?

It's not been to the Bluebell as far as I can tell from my mileage data.

Off the top of my head Repton’s done the Great Central twice (I think the first time was an 18 month loan in the early 1990’s), Nene Valley and SVR and I think it’s also done the Gloucester Warwick’s as Cheltenham (when 925 was in York) when the extension to Racecourse first opened.
Although confusingly I think 925 has also made it to Cheltenham in about 2013/4? I think it’s also had a little trip to Dorset as well though.

Definitely two trips to GCR; I've a trip double headed with Butler Henderson in my notes from 1991, and also visited the 2019 autumn gala.

The U (or is it UN?) continues to be reassembled, in slightly more pleasant weather. IMG_5554.JPG
