Good to see the '2021 Gala' topic coming to life again. It feels as if spring has finally sprung. :) <BJ>

The minutes of the PDG just published state that there will be no Spring Gala this year. The ones later in the year "may be possible", but "there would be no promises". See section 7 of the minutes.

Noting the increasing number of proposed Galas which are advising distancing for intended passengers, is there any arrangements for visitors who simply prefer to stay on stations and contribute through purchases of refreshments / books etc without intending to travel on timetabled services ?

I usually do the same thing but as passenger numbers were limited at the gala I made a donation to the railway to the sum of the price of a ticket. <BJ>

From a ULS colleague, regarding the ULS Open day.:
"It has changed, following the realisation that most restrictions, based on the current roadmap, would be lifted on June 21st, 2 days after our open day. Discussed with railway management and Jul 3rd was available to us. Also 506 will not be running so we can have her on show and in steam. All in all it seemed an opportunity not to be missed, hopefully we can all have a more relaxed time."
    See you then?
    Pat

Is it usual for loco rosters to be arranged that far in advance? If pressed to guess I would have thought they were more likely to be decided closer to the time

I provisionly booking off time to go to the Spa Valley in July and the Seven Valley Autumn Gala off (4th time lucky maybe? since I did attempt this in 2018 and haven't had much luck since) -baring a 4th lockdown of course.

But does anyone know when Didcot 'might' celebrate their 60th? Maybe?
