Some interesting wording on the Bluebell website about this:

Rather than 'being stored at Eastleigh' or something similar.

    and....

Rather than will return, as they've said previosuly.

Or am I just reading too much into it?!

Well they are desperate for money, perhaps they hope for a offer!

I belive (though without looking at the website) that on loan to is the phrase used for any Bluebell asset kept away from Bluebell.

I should imagine that on-loan means that the VEP could be allowed to work but only with whatever work required being authorised by the owners, and of course the venues being agreed in advance as well.

Hmmm.... Blue VEP, Blue & Grey CIG and an ED into Waterloo...

Ah - but we must be looking for a special formation that can keep pace with Dessies... 3,600 horses should mean that we can get some running in on the Fast Roads.

to all intents and purposes i would say that the bluebelle only own the unit in name only, knights rail services will no dought be the ones who will be paying to keep 3417 on the road, paying for ftr's etc doing the necessary work needed to keep her in certification
what does she need to be able to run a special charter working, does she have otmr and what about central door looking ,or are these not strictly speaking applicable

Easy - take the handles off leaving operable doors at each end and the middle of each coach, and then stick CDL on those.
The purists might get upset, but it gets around the loadsa-doors problem.

ED? Nah go for a 33! More appropriate wouldn't it be?

As for the colour scheme off a Blue VEP and Blue and grey CEP, Only if the CEP is pre conversion?

Actually what would it take to convert a CEP to how they used to look?

Can out pace a Dessie, without the ED coupled to 1881 + 3417, even in Snow? [-X

i can remember chatting to an southeastern driver just after the veps had been withdrawn from the dover- london route whilst we were waiting at folkestone just after christmass a few years back, the new turbo stars were struggling to get up to ashford from here, he said that the old slam door units would have made it no problem, and that in what he called the old days, they would have just stuck a passing 33 on the back and pushed it

Thanks to SWT, the Bluebell and KRS we've still got a little bit of what used to be the most flexible fleet in Britain... But only a little bit, sadly... Ho-Hum.

Well, lets make some noises in certain places. Lets move 4 CEPs 2311 + 2315 down South, then I will be really happy? :-$

Lets get 1881 and 3417 up as going concerns first - then we can worry about getting more bits for the trainset!!!

Having visited EZ today, by the way, I can tell you all that 3417 is all tucked up nice and warm and 1881's rehabilitation is also doing very well.
