To fit a rivetted backplate or backhead while the inner firebox is in place: we had the following done - trim back the side and crown plates of the outer wrapper, rivet a new closer piece of boiler plate to the backplate, then weld the closer to the rest of the firebox. The method of construction and its approval is preserved.

An interesting way of achieving this, which I've personally not come across.

This Time Lapse film has just appeared.
Covers the bridge work done to Br 27 but misses the track replacement.

Whilst I'm not sure off hand about the bridge numbering. The mileage is measured from the Rillington Junction end. Though Grosmont could throw a spanner in the mileage measurements what with the line from Middlesbrough joined........

The NYMR mileage is as @Davo suggests measured from Rillington Junction right through to Whitby. Bridges are also numbered in sequence from Rillington Junction. The line from Battersby to Grosmont is measured from Picton Junction and this mileage changes to the Rillington mileage at Grosmont.

I see according to the latest issue of Heritage Railways. The newly restored Beavertail carriage 1729 has been booked to make it's first post restoration operating visit to the Moors......

Reading the comments on Facebook, it would appear that neither does the NYMR.

    Evening All,

I'm still whiling away the lockdown hours by putting some of my old VHS videos on YouTube and the latest one is a further instalment of the footage I shot on the NYMR in August, 1992. Hope it's of interest:

Is that Dub Dee the one that now lives in the guise of 90775?

Yup, I think it ran for a while as LMR 601 ‘Sturdee’ whilst at the Mid Hants I didn’t realise it went to the NYMR still in LM blue.

When first restored at the MHR it was painted black as 90775. It was then repainted in LMR livery as 601 around 1989. It stayed in this livery when transferred to the NYMR but it wasn’t in service long due to boiler problems. Following overhaul it re-emerged as 90775 in 1994.

You can pretty well discount the Easter Weekend this year as it's at the start of April [2/4-5/4] and the first May Bank Holiday weekend too.......Though there might be some "Ghost Trains" running, as training/refreshing trips. These runs if they run would also help checking for any extra repairs etc on the locos and stock.
