The next extension of the L&B from Killington Lane towards Parracombe has been secured by the purchase of the trackbed across farm land to the west of Killington Lane Bridge (Bridge No.65). The railway now controls the trackbed all the way from Woody Bay Station to Cricket Field Lane.

    See: http://www.lynton-rail.co.uk/story/news/1906

Note that the next extension sub-project will not come early or cheap. The next major obstacle is the need to replace the existing Killington Lane road bridge, which will be a costly project in itself.

Full marks to the Lynton and Barnstaple people for determination. This is developing into a very worthwhile part of this iconic line being brought back to life in a beautiful part of the country.
