Latest issue of Railway Magazine reports she was towed to Bury in October.

Whilst we're on the subject, has JC managed to progress his museum with the council?

I was going to delete this image when going through some shots the other day. But 3 for the price of 1. Taken at York on my only trip on a train anywhere this year. IMG_0040.JPG

I'm with JC on this - I prefer this look to the pristine show pony look!

So you won't be volunteering to clean a loco any time soon then? ;-)

You wouldn't be thinking of a certain air-smoothed loco in SR "sunshine" livery with BRITISH RAILWAYS upon the tender, would you....? :D

The new book about 60009 and the many people who have worked as part of her support crew over the years arrived today. Highly recommended. Been dipping into it this evening. A bloody good read and quite moving at times. Great selection of photos as well. It also includes the legendary high speed run in February 1995 when something special happened over Whiteball. Mike Notley's log of the run is published in the book. It is available to buy from Waterstones for £15.99. 9781445682754_3.jpg

Is 28/04/84 mentioned? Fastest preservation climb from Settle Jct to Blea Moor as I understand it. Or 16/11/91 fastest preservation climb from Ormside to Ais Gill.

Apologies for the delay in replying but I have had problems with accessing the forum today. The 16/11/91 run does indeed get a mention with a photo.

    Just ordered mine!
I've also pre-ordered the 60007 Society book too, the wallet's just taken quite a spanking this evening!
