Point missed completely. This latest nonsense is about a job advert.

    You had a point?

What is the job for? Why does the job matter? Why is the job being finished on time important to the WSR. It is pretty self explatory why people are interested in the crossing works.

I do find it ironic that you keep on whining about what people discuss in this thread and yet you accuse other people of being like dog with a bone. Pots and kettles.

*Some* may possibly be interested in the crossing works. That's fine.

But "interested" doesn't mean jumping on their keyboards to criticise everything.

Totally agree. There's no doubt that people are interested in what is happening at Llangollen but there is no evidence of people hammering away demanding to know of everything that is happening there. It's just a few WSR bashers repeating the same old drivel.

Can someone please reassure me that the north facing gable end of the Williton Goods Shed has not collapsed on to the Class 14. The angle of view from the Williton webcam presents a worrying picture.

I’m not quite sure what you are on about? I just had a quick look and nothing looks remotely like it’s collapsed on anything, rather the 14 is parked up with its bonnets sheeted over and the goods shed has scaffolding but I don’t see how from the view you have come to the conclusion you have.

Yeah, and the trouble is they’ll all be at it again when the level crossing gate at Blue Anchor is replaced.

Not actually true but don't let the evidence get in the way of your biases. There is plenty of speculation and demands for information in the Llangollen thread - questions and speculation about who owns what, including the trackbed, questions about funding, criticism of the trust for putting up locos for sale after asking for money with some people saying they won't donate any more, questions about what is for sale, demands for information about auction, speculation about bidders, and some discussion about VAT, receivership, administration and insolvency (again for the kind of granular discussion that is so beloved of the WSR thread). Different issues, same level of questioning and some criticism.

Maybe they are just less paranoid on Llangollen about criticism than WSR 'apologists'? (Again, see how pointless labelling people is? And if they are just a 'few' why do you even care about a fringe minority?)

But then the choice of language by you and others is designed to delegitimise those who question what is going on and to delegitimise criticism and to encourage self-censorship. Those who question are pejoratively labelled 'bashers', minimised as 'a few' (a recalcitrant minority - just so people know that they are outliers) and re-enforced so the next time there is an issue, anyone who thinks about raising it or being critical knows how it will be framed. A nice (but transparent) attempt at stifling discussion.

Unlike you jumping on your keyboard to criticise people for criticising.

Unfortunately there is someone (not you) who sits firmly in the ''WSR Bashing'' category who appears to choosing to ignore the 'evidence' provided and continues to poke the fire.

My feeling is that most people can agree on the WSR Plc needing to communicate better, but we can't agree about information the WSR Plc have not communicated out. And if we couldn't agree on that several pages ago and moved on knowing we have different opinions on the same thing, well I look forward to several pages of heated discussion over the WSR Plc failing to announce they have bought a box of biro pens and a pack of toilet roll...

Yes, I had a point. I made it once back at #36610 and not since.

By contrast your 'dog and bone' posts have almost turned this thread into the @Monkey Magic soapbox thread about an advert rather than a crossing that I thought the WSR has already said something public about?

Except when you came back in on monday (?) to whine again about what people are posting, and god knows how many other times you've banged on about it. So you are just as much of a dog with a bone, one that you just can't keep from coming back to.

And guess what. I do have a bone of contention about communication and the way the WSR communicates with its stakeholders because I think it is important in improving the performance and success of the WSR, important in rebuilding trust and important in taking the railway forward. I am not sorry about raising this issue and to keep on raising it.

It's a thankless task being a Moderator but, IMHO you are getting a touch too involved personally here.

A meta point about the relative virtue of disabling webcams to avoid erroneous reported problems elsewhere on the railway perhaps…? ;)

Sorry to say this......The other side of the WSR thread is the number of people who complain (often legitimately) on the thread about the people who hog the thread with their 'issues' plus the reported posts we get and have to deal with.

So it is personal to what we have to do and as a result this particular thread is ruined by individuals in a way that few other heritage railway threads are affected.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. S'pose you could really put the cat among the pigeons and lock the entire thread until the level crossing gets commissioned. I rather doubt we'd miss much of substance. Of course, I merely jest ..... or do I? :Meh:

Exactly right and is why most folk actually connected with the WSR regard this place as a pointless echo chamber, best avoided.

Unlike the WSR facebook groups which are such bastions of open intelligent tolerant enlightened debate and discussion.

    Oughtn't it be 'crossing gate-gate' ;)
