The week commencing March 29th K1 No. 62005 spent 5 days working along the Esk Valley line between Grosmont to Battersby and return. The K1 then worked Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th between Grosmont to Whitby with S15 No. 825 working Thursday 8th and Friday 9th. A few pictures from the last 2 weeks are below:

Whilst not directly the Moors. I came across this short by the late Frank Dean of a couple of trips on the Whitby to Scarborough line along the coast. Frank was not only a railwayman himself, but also a member of the Moors I believe. I'll let you spot the mistake in the title.-

Stone me, the last few chords of that are pretty dark… I feel the need to listen to some cheery music!

Indeed Simon/Goldfish music can make or break a feature........ Don't know if you or anybody else spotted the mistake in the title. That being the DMU trip taking place in 1966, the line like the Grosmont-Pickering-Rillington section, that went onto become the NYMR [Grosmont-Pickering] closed in March 1965! Story has it that when the brake van special was run for the Scrap-men, a resident living beside the line phoned the HQ at York to say/report that trains had started running again along the line :rolleyes:!

The NYMR have been involved in the Filming of the new Mission Impossible Film. The director Christopher McQuarrie posted a picture of Levisham Station today on Instagram.

Can't say The Yorkshire Post is my normal reading material, but co-incidentally this popped up in my Facebook feed:

A photo appeared briefly somewhere on Facebook (it has gone now, I think( that showed the "mock-up, Britannia based, continental loco - and the latest pics appear to show a section of the rear of the tender. Good pulicity for the NYMR, though - and they have another filming job booked in early May when the railway will be closed for a few days, so it looks like quite a big one. Useful money in these times.

    Looks like it is.
Loco looks very similar to one that made an appearance on the GC for a filming contract a few years ago. I guess it might well be the same one

Certainly looks like it. I think it was embargoed at the time and I suspect that the filming has now become more widely known because it has finished - they would have wanted sighteers around whilst it was ongoing.

I wondered how long it would be before photos started appearing on here. It's an impressive piece of kit. Given the problems with coal supplies, this could be the answer.;)

I found the photo on a YouTube video comment. The motor is in the tender and its use a generator to use the steam. It was tested at the GCR last year

    Very much so.
That Gradient board alongside the milepost was part fabricated and installed by me along with another group member.

Sorry, I couldn't quite parse that last bit; did you mean something like 'it's used as a generator to create the steam'?
