Oswestry Update

I hope your house and workshop move goes ok......it is always going to cause delay!....and stress! ....and frustration!
The railway will be a haven of peace I'm sure - when you can get to it.

 

Thanks. This is the 'big one', hopefully our final move and down sizing the house (but considerably up sizing the workshop) whilst evicting the final two children. For some mad reason we have bought a fully furnished house, not unusual in Italy as second houses are regularly sold complete, so we have to shed ourselves of the excess in both the old and the new house. Then to cap it all the new house will be undergoing a series of improvements and modifications whilst we are living there. An interesting twelve months lie ahead and at the end of it I should be able to build a G1/ G scale line and a circuit round the house of 5/7.25". After that I will be ready to retire....
Edit. Added a photo of the new workshop with an 18' ceiling height.

 

Impressive workshop .....you could get a GW 0-6-0 in there...........or is that the cunning plan?

Shhh, don't let the wife know!!!! It's big enough to house and build a replica Sharp Stuart 4-4-0, first the loco and then the tender ;-).

 

IIRC, the last survivors of the Cambrian's native loco fleet were 0-6-0s .... albeit 'Swindonised'.

On the compendious and frequent updates, that's always a +1 from me!

 

Back to work again and more panels reworked. Also our new toy, the Road Rail Crane, came in very handy moving point components into position for the refuge siding. Blog will be updated tomorrow.

 

Like the beer fridge already in the garage...

That is all of the things being left by the previous owner. We have four fridges of our own to fit in to the house...

 

Love the shed code { 70A } on the Road Railer unit --a little off region, but hey whos counting ....

3 for beer and 1 for food?

 

Ha, it sort of creeps up on you. The main large fridge packed up suddenly whilst I was out of the country so my wife went out and urgently bought a new one. When I got back I plugged the old one in and it worked fine after a clean of the filter (cat hairs mostly...). We also have a fridge in the basement for during the summer. Then we had to change to a larger fridge in our flat, being in good condition it was too good to ditch so it came home. And there you have it, four fridges at home.
Under the kitchen at the new house is a cellar with 800 wine bottles. Unluckily the wine is Château du Thin Air 2021..

 

So it could be said to have furred up, then ivaprotista. Just like a kettle....... Don't worry I've the TT ready and waiting for a quick getaway !

 

One of my friends had two fridges in her kitchen.
1 for food
1 for chocolate.

A former wife of my uncle was a taxidermist and had 2 freezers, one for food and one for work...

 

I can relate to a fridge for chocolate. You know that outside temperatures are rising when the chocolate bars are no longer to be found in the kitchen drawers. Time to raid the fridge..

On other news the point components for the refuge siding are being positioned. Blog update later tonight once pictures arrive.

You'd have to be very careful if you came home hungry after a long session at the pub !
