Small Prairie No. 5526 passing Hampshire Hunt Bridge heading towards Alton yesterday. The sun just managed to stay out!

Unexpected sunshine this morning. I modified my daily exercise walk to ensure I did several circuits around Bishops Sutton around the times 5526 and 4612 were around. My intended shot was from the dark side, but the sun put aid to that!

My efforts of the Gala yesterday, a great performance from all the locomotives and credit to the railway and all involved for making it happen!

Another selection from my time at the Hants. Thank you to all the volunteers who put it together and, in particular, to the line side clearance team (whose names I've regretfully forgotten) who have done a fantastic job over the past 12-18 months to create a proper representation of how the line side would have been.

My video from yesterday, great day despite the gale force winds in the afternoon which made filming tricky! Thanks to everyone involved in putting on the event...

My footage from days two and three. I second the comments about the lineside, it's in superb condition and is a testament to the dedicated folk who keep it so well maintained.

I've now put the second part of my MHR Spring Steam Gala video on YouTube. It was shot at Ropley and shows a variety of trains coming and going; hope you like it:

Part Three will follow in due course.

Here are a couple of shots of the visitors climbing from Alresford to Ropley. taken on Friday 30th April. I was on my way to Medstead to work the afternoon shift in the signalbox.
